Transport decarbonisation in the UK - low-carbon fuels, infrastructure, sector-specific targets and next steps for policy.
This conference will be an opportunity to examine priorities for decarbonisation across the UK transport system, and takes place as the Government develops its forthcoming Transport Decarbonisation Plan, intended for publication later this year.
Bringing together stakeholders with key policymakers, areas for discussion include:
- securing holistic change across the transport system
- setting bespoke, effective and achievable emissions targets for different transport modes
- building up UK transport industry manufacturing capabilities for net-zero
- preparing electricity network infrastructure for widescale electric vehicle deployment
- next steps for alternative fuels and supply capacity for hard-to-decarbonise vehicles and activities
- investor confidence and effective incentives for industry development
The discussion is bringing together stakeholders with key policy officials who are due to attend from BEIS; DIT; DfT; HSE; NAO; ORR; The Planning Inspectorate; DAERA, NI; and the Welsh Government.
