Job Description

The position reports to the Global Chlor-Alkali Market Advisory Service Leader. Key responsibilities include:

• Completes primary research and analysis for the North American chlorine and non-vinyls chlorine derivatives markets, including hydrochloric acid. Research includes producer capacities, operating status, production costs, supply/demand balance, trade flows, pricing, new projects, general market dynamics, individual company strategies, and econometric modelling.
• Establishes and maintains a reputation for chlorine value chain expertise
• Develops and delivers market presentations at industry events.

Job Requirements

• Ten or more years of chemical industry experience, including commercial chlorine market experience.
• University degreed. Chemical engineering or chemistry degree preferred, economics will be considered; MBA or other graduate degree is desirable
• Established relationships with market participants in the chlorine and chlorine derivative markets.
• Outgoing personality. Ability and willingness to establish and maintain personal relationships and develop high degree of trust at multiple levels within a client’s organization
• Demonstrated “team player”; ability to internalize organizational strategy and objectives and provide peer leadership for collaborative success. Drives for action and results.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills; ability to identify and articulate core/essential issues within complex problems and deliver insights and solutions. Deals well with ambiguity and contradiction.
• Demonstrated skills with respect to multi-tasking, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines in high pressure environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluent English speaker.
• Organized and persuasive speaker at all client levels to small and large audiences – effectively distils complex information into key points
• Strong computer modelling and excel spreadsheet management skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
