Job Description

CEO role reporting to the board.

Initial responsibilities will be:

• Prioritizing, shaping and driving closure of the first deals

• Refining, improving and developing internal processes 

• Mentoring, augmenting and developing the existing team 

• Scoping and developing future growth opportunities

• Helping to secure future funding rounds

Job Requirements

 Former CEO of a start-up who has successfully led a business, ideally to exit. 

 Perhaps an MD, GM or SBU leader in a larger organisation, who understands the risks of joining a small company and is genuinely motivated by the challenge of scaling the business.

 Clear passion for sustainability / the bioeconomy and wants to move the dial.

 The enthusiasm to inspire others. A leader who can encourage a team and help them embrace change, yet also nurture the existing culture and is open to ideas.  

 Strong commercial experience in being able to sell, structure complex contracts and close deals. This needs clear commercial thinking and the ability to prioritise.

 Extensive experience working with, or for, specialty chemicals manufacturers, materials companies or possibly end-use customers, plus an understanding of their production challenges. Experience of water-based chemistry would be particularly interesting.

 Clear strategic thinking. The ability to develop plans yet focus on short-term objectives.

 Experience in capital raising and credibility in working with investors.
