To celebrate International Women in Engineering Day on 23rd June, Get It Made are excited to announce a £10k grant for female-founded or led engineering organisations. According to the latest figures available from the Women’s Engineering Society and ONS, as of 2021 just 12% of the engineering industry, and 25% of the manufacturing industry are female. In a bid to combat this gender imbalance within the industry, manufacturing specialists, Get It Made, are encouraging female-led organisations within engineering to apply for this grant that can take their work to the next level. In positive news, there has been an increase of 7.6% in female representation over the past decade, and we hope this grant can help to continue this trend. As well as the £10k grant, Get It Made will also be offering its expertise to help support small female-led engineering businesses through their manufacturing and supply chain challenges.
